╔═ sighting note
Many of these along this hillside. Also other edibles and mushrooms of interest.
╔═ Habitat
Deciduous and mixed woodland, often along paths and in mossy, grassy spots
╔═ Edibility
Edible, but of lesser value than the chanterelle because of its thin flesh
╔═ Key Features
- ▸ Slender, deeply funnel-shaped cap with a strongly wavy, lobed margin
- ▸ Thin, forked and cross-veined yellow false gills running down the stem (no true gills)
- ▸ Very slender, hollow, smooth yellow stem
- ▸ Faint fruity smell and mild taste
╔═ Notes
Thin flesh, so the slender stems make up most of the meal; a good mushroom to dry.
