- ▸ Pale grey to whitish cap, often with olive tinges
- ▸ Bright red pores and a red, bulbous stem with a red network pattern
- ▸ Flesh that turns bluish when cut or bruised
- ▸ Strong, unpleasant odour in older specimens
╔═ Notes
A striking and unmistakable red-pored bolete, and one of the few that is toxic. Its bold colours — grey-white cap, blood-red pores and red stem — stand out clearly on the forest floor.
